Meet Maya

I create spaces — through words, art, community, and conversation — where people can return to themselves. My work lives at the intersection of healing and creation, helping others move from inner truth toward outer expression with courage, tenderness, and purpose.
Maya lives in Maine with her beloved cuddle kitties May & Thorny, and her beloved dog Zeus.
For over a decade, I’ve walked beside people navigating life’s tender transitions — grief, healing, awakening, and reinvention. My own journey began with devastating loss. The death of my 23-year-old daughter, Lindsay, cracked open the life I thought I knew and asked me to rediscover who I truly was beneath it all.
In the years that followed, I learned that healing often begins in solitude — but it becomes whole when our truth is witnessed by others. That understanding shaped everything I create: spaces where people feel safe enough to return to themselves and brave enough to live from that place.
Through She Creates Peace, I explore the meeting point of inner peace and outer purpose. My work weaves together storytelling, sanctuary, creativity, and practical guidance — helping people build lives and businesses that reflect the truth of who they are.
I don’t believe in hustle culture. I believe in intention, intuition, and integration.
Here, we honor the quiet inner voice and the bold outer vision. We walk the path of healing and creation side by side, knowing that joy and grief can coexist — and that both can lead us home to ourselves.
Whether you arrive with a broken heart or a burning idea, you are welcome here.
This is where peace meets purpose.
This is where you begin.
“An invisible thread of connection exists between those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. That thread may stretch or tangle, but it cannot be broken.”
— Chinese Proverb

I speak of Lindsay so often that people often ask to see photos of her. I am so grateful for her life and for her presence even after her death. While I would give anything and everything to have five more minutes with her, I am profoundly who I am because of her presence in my life. There would be no She Creates Peace without her.
A Quiet Invitation
If you’ve found your way here, there may already be a part of you ready to return to yourself — to live more honestly, create more intentionally, and trust the truth you carry within.
Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome here. Peace and purpose don’t arrive all at once. They unfold, one honest step at a time.
And when you’re ready, there is a path waiting for you.
